Heart-Centered Horsemanship offers a variety of John Lyons Certified Horse Training Programs which are tailored to meet both you and your horse's needs. Horse starting through horse finishing services are provided with a focus on creating a soft, supple, and willing horse. We have the qualifications and experience to train your horse to be anything from a quiet well-mannered trail horse to a show horse you can be proud of. Practical, gentle, natural methods are used to develop your horse's confidence, trust, understanding and respect in you.

We are sensitive to the concerns horse owners have when choosing a trainer for their horse. We are committed to giving your horse professional care and training as well as that individual attention every horse deserves. Here is a list of the horse care you can expect from us while your horse is in training. Your horse will be:

  • groomed and worked daily, 5 days a week, Tuesday through Saturday ridden and trained only by Heart-Centered Horsemanship trainers

  • fed quality grass hay 3 times a day

  • fed Omelene 100 and Vita-Stress Vitamins daily

  • fresh, clean water which is monitored daily to ensure your horse is drinking adequetly

  • housed in it's own individual wood fenced paddock, which is cleaned daily, and has a run-in-shed for shelter from the elements

Additionally, here is a list of what you personally can expect from us:

  • A one-hour lesson with your horse each week provided at no additional cost. We highly encourage you to take advantage of this so that you understand the methods and approach we are using to train your horse. After your horse's training is complete and you take it home, we want you to know enough about how to ask your horse for want you want so that your horse willingly does what you want.

  • An open invitation to watch any and all training sessions.

  • An open barn policy. You may stop by and visit your horse, while it's in training, any time of the day or night. We do ask, however, that while your horse is in training, you do not ride it unless it is under your trainer's supervision. We do encourage you to spend time with your horse, even if it's just to groom or hang out with him.

  • We will provide all tack, including halters and lead ropes.

  • Quality veterinary care if needed. We use Burnt Fork Veterinary Clinic as our primary vet. Of course, we will use the veterinarian of your choice.

  • A written training agreement which outlines your training goals for your horse and helps assure we meet your expectations.
